מִי עוֹמֵד מֵאֲחוֹרֵי אַקְטוּאָלִי?

Who’s behind Aktuali?

Hi! I’m Yaron — a Hebrew teacher, the founder of Ulpan Bayit in Tel Aviv, and a hopeless language-learning addict. I also love to code and build websites — this one included. I built Aktuali because I believe the best way to learn a language is to live inside it.

For years my students asked me the same question: “Yaron, when can I read the news in Hebrew?”— and for years the honest answer was “not yet.” Real newspapers are wonderful, but they’re written for people who already know all the words.

So we made one that isn’t. אקטואליtakes the day’s real news and retells every story in simple Hebrew — at six levels, from א₀ (A0) to ה (C1). Pick your level and the same story meets you where you are: shorter sentences, friendlier words, vowels where you need them. Tap any word to hear it and save it. Come back tomorrow; there’s a new paper waiting.

It’s a project of Ulpan Bayit — our little Hebrew school in the heart of Tel Aviv, where “bayit” means home. If you’re ever in the neighbourhood, come say shalom.
